Our high-temperature applications division offers a comprehensive range of materials for the industrial furnace construction industry, hard metal industry, aerospace and chemical engineering.
The wide variety of requirements placed upon heating systems for the work zones of industrial furnaces is selectively geared towards various thermal processes. The material used for heating systems must not only offer high thermal stability, high electrical loading capacity and good mechanical strength, but must also be chemically pure and resistant to both aggressive media and thermal shock.
Rigid and soft felts made of graphite fibres are used in these areas. When combined with graphite foil made of expanded natural graphite flakes, optimum insulation results can be achieved.
Charging stands made of carbon fibre reinforced carbon offer the advantage of increased temperature resistance which, when combined with the low density typical of fibre-reinforced composites, allows for the realisation of very lightweight constructions. These characteristics facilitate larger batches or shorter process times.
